Is it just me or are the days really long without any football on the TV. Although at least the Copa Del Ray Final did provide some respite on a Friday evening. As I have already said, the sooner that we get to the international friendlys and European championships the better. Now its time again to look at all today’s transfer news, rumours and gossip from  domestic leagues to across Europe and some times beyond and also managerial news.
We start today’s instalment at the Emirates, where the Gunners are ready to open the bidding for Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud by offering 6.4 million pounds plus Marouane Chamakh, for the 25 year-old.
Manchester City are poised to make a fresh attempt to lure Barcelona star Dani Alves to the Premier League this summer. Reports in Spain suggest that City have their intention to snatch the 29-year old Brazil international clear, tabling an offer of 15 million pounds and Aleksander Kolarov. Striker Mario Balotelli has reiterated his desire to stay at the club, playing down reports in the Italian press that he is to join AC Milan. Roberto Mancini has again played down speculation that the club are preparing a bid for AC Milan’s Brazilian defender Thiago Silva. Mancini met with AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani earlier this week and it prompted rumours that the champions were lining up a bid for Silva.
Newcastle, Cardiff and Southampton are involved in a transfer tussle for Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez. The Clarets want 8 million pounds for the 22-year old, who scored 21 goals last season.
Liverpool will have to act fast if they are to sign Matias Suarez after the Anderlecht forward revealed Bayern Munich have made a move to sign him. Suarez, 24, is rated one of the best strikers in Belgium and has been earning rave reviews this season. The future of midfielder Alberto Aquilani has still to be decided, according to the players representative’s Franco Zavagila. The Italian international was brought to Anfield by former boss Rafa Benitez in 2009 but has since been loaned to Juventus in 2010 and Milan in 2011. Reds target Ryad Boudebouz wants to leave Sochaux this summer. Boudebouz has been watched by Liverpool’s scouting network while Roberto Martinez is said to have tracked him at Wigan.
Manchester United are ready to raise their offer for Shinji Kagawa to around 19 million pounds. A price they expect Borussia Dortmumd to accept. Kagawa has already held talks with manager Sir Alex Ferguson, with Dortmund’s blessing.
Continental news now, and Benfica have confirmed the signing of Ola John. Beating  Sunderland and Aston Villa to his signature. The Premier League pair were keen on John but he has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Portuguese side. Porto Brazilian forward Hulk, 25, is prepared to hand in a transfer request in order to force through a 35 million pound move to Chelsea. The Blues have already reached an outline agreement on personal terms with the player. Real Betis are hoping to fend off interest from Aston Villa and Newcastle and strike a deal to sign Wigan midfielder Mohamed Diame. The agent of Dimitar Berbatov has claimed that his client is tempted by a switch to Paris Saint-Germain. the French outfit coached by former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti, finished second in Ligue 1 but will be able to offer Champions League football next season.
In global news, Tottenham’s Ryan Nelson is set for a summer move to the MLS on a free transfer. The defender moved to Spurs  in January as cover for the injured Sebastian Bassong but he is not considered part of the clubs long-term plans.
Swansea have agreed a deal with Hoffenheim to sign Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson on a permanent basis. It is thought that the two clubs have struck a deal for the Swans to buy the 22-year old for a fee in the region of 7 million pounds, which would be a new club record. Winger Scott Sinclair is stalling over signing a new deal with the Welsh club. The 23-year old, who scored 8 goals last season, has 12 months left on his current deal.
Everton manager David Moyes is chasing FC Copenhagen’s 6 million rated Senegalese striker Dame N’Doye, but the Toffees boss will have to sell to bid.
QPR are lining up Tottenham midfielder  Jermaine Jenas, 29, as a replacement for Joey Barton, who was banned for 12 matches by the FA on Wednesday.
Striker Peter Odemwingie wants to leave West Brom and move to a bigger club hope I will leave West Brom keeping warm relations with everybody” said the 30-year old. “I would consider any proposals, even Russia. But my aim is to stay in England”. They have also shunned an enquiry from Swansea about Graham Dorrans.
Stoke boss Tony Pulis has launched a bid to sign Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku on loan for next season. The 19-year old made only 12 appearances last season for the Blues, scoring no goals after joining from Anderlecht for 18 million pounds.
Cardiff City have agreed a deal to sign Peterborough goalkeeper Joe Lewis.
Midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen has said that he will remain at Blackburn despite the clubs relegation to the Championship.
Crystal Palace have won the race to sign Portsmouth defender Joel Ward. Ward has been expected to leave Portsmouth since the end of the season due to the clubs dire financial situation.
And we end once again on managerial news, and Steve Bruce is wanted by Hull City to replace Nick Barmbybut he will not make any decision yet as he eyes a third return to Wigan, should Roberto Martinez leave for Liverpool. Chelsea interim boss Roberto Di Matteo has emerged as a target for Napoli after talks with Chelsea stalled. Former Chelsea assistant coach Ray Wilkins is a contender to replace Roy Hodgson as West Brom boss if the Baggies can not lure Chris Hughton away from Birmingham City.
