As this years domestic season’s all drawing to a close and the European championships and Olympics both fast approaching its time again to look at what possible deals could be done this summer.

We start once again at the Emirates where it has emerged that Arsenal have joined Liverpool in the race for Fulham front man Clint Dempsey, 29. It is also understood that boss Arsene Wenger is closing in on £17m rated Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila, 21. Highly rated 17-year old Peruvian striker Andy Polo, thought to have been considered by the Gunners has opted to join Italian side Genoa in a deal worth £4m.
Manchester City are targeting Montpellier midfielder Younes Belhanda, 22, as a back up target, with their pursuit of Lille’s Eden Hazard, 21, proving more difficult than the club had first anticipated. Edin Dzeko must quit Manchester City this summer or see his career dwindle away to nothing says Bosnia coach Safet Susic. Susic claims Dzeko must leave City in search of regular first team football and fears his prospects will become even more restricted if Roberto Mancini signs more players. Manchester City players have been promised £250,000 each if they land the Premier League title.
Manchester United and Bayern Munich are both shaping up for a summer swoop on Everton, with left-back Leighton Baines the target. The 27-year old is thought to be on Sir Alex Ferguson’s mind as a potential replacement for Frenchman Patrice Evra who will be 31 next week.
Spurs target Loic Remy, 25, of Marseille has poured cold water on thee North London sides pursuit of him by declaring that he wishes to remain in France, however the club’s current financial situation may lead to him being sold. Jan Vertonghen, 24, has revealed he wants to seal a move to White Hart Lane this summer and has called on his club Ajax to agree a fee with the London club. “Tottenham are absolutely my favorite” he said. “But the Ajax board are asking for a very big amount for a player who’s contract is running out in one year. I trust that both clubs will put some water in the wine and reach an agreement soon”. Benoit Assou-Ekotto has admitted he could quit spurs this summer if a ‘bigger club’ comes calling. The Cameroon international who signed from French club Lens in 2006 has been a mainstay of the first team since Harry Redknapp took over in 2008, impressing with his style and attacking flair.
Chelsea target Caballero, a 17-year old striker with Paraguay side Libertad, is also wanted by Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid. Striker Didier Drogba will be given one last chance to sign a new contract. The 34-year old rejected a one year deal, but the club are prepared to offer a compromise of an option of a further 12 months if he continues to a deliver.
On to Europe now and Real Madrid scouts have been watching Newcastle’s in form striker Papiss Cisse with a view to making a move for the Senegal international this summer. Porto’s 25-year old £25m rated midfielder Joao Moutinho, who has been monitored by Chelsea, has admitted he would be open to a move to the Premier League. Spain defender Carles Puyol looks set to miss Euro 2012 after opting to go under the knife for knee surgery. Antonio Di Natale, previously linked with Tottenham will discuss his future with Udinese after Euro 2012. Evergreen striker Di Natale continues to score goals in Serie A and of his 28 goals in 42 appearances this season, 22 have come in the Italian top flight.
Fulham are poised to complete a £10m double transfer swoop for Heerenveen wingers Luciano Narsingh and Oussama Assaidi, fighting off competition from Dutch sides PSV Eindhoven and Ajax, Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala and Premier League rivals Everton and Newcastle.
Loftus Road now and if they can secure their Premier League status next weekend(which I hope they do from a Man Utd fans perspective), QPR are planning a £7m move for Wigan winger Victor Mosses.
Paul Scharner will leave West Brom at the end of the season and is hoping to find a new challenge in the summer. The midfielder joined The Baggies on a free transfer from Wigan in 2010 and has scored 7 goals in 63 games at The Hawthorns.
Assamoah Gyan looks to have no future at Sunderland after revealing he has no contact with the club since joining UAE side Al-Ain on loan last summer. Gyan, 26, switched to Al-Ain on a short term basis last September after a fall out with then boss Steve Bruce.
Liverpool could be back in for Eljero Elia after the Dutchman’s decision to leave Juventus. Elia moved to Juventus last summer and has struggled to settle following his switch from Hamburg. Midfielder Maxi Rodriguez is considering cancelling his contract. The Argentinian is desperate to get more game time and has grown increasingly frustrated by his role on the periphery of Kenny Dalglish’s first team.
We finish today with managerial news former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has rejected a second approach from Chelsea despite the offer of £12m a year and a huge transfer budget.
